About Manufacturer

Isuzu, founded in 1916, became the first car manufacturer in Japan. The company received its name in honor of the Japanese river of the same name. The first Isuzu trucks appeared in 1918. In 1922, the Ishikawajima A-9 was produced under the license of Wolseley from England. Of particular importance for Isuzu was the development and improvement of diesel engines for cars. The first DA6 diesel engine with air cooling is being developed in 1936 - this was quite a serious achievement for the Japanese automotive industry.
