Someone named her Bertha - on the driver’s door. Better than a billboard, it’s the best advertisement you could find. Make a visual statement with your business. A blank canvas, it’s the perfect backbone for a cool tiny house or mobile restaurant. This super rare baby has a cool factor that you just can’t find with other vehicles. Imagine how much attention it can draw as a food truck for BBQ or as a fixture for your horse farm, business, etc. I think it would be great if it were front and center at a food trailer park to draw in customers. It has about 106 square feet of floor space and an additional 88 inches wide by four feet deep (29 more square feet) area for storage or sleeping quarters over the cab. There are two ramps that slide out from the sides that were used to walk horses into the carriage and a door/port on the rear that was used for loading hay. With the double doors on each side, you would be able to use either side for access. The original 6 cylinder engine was replaced with a 1973 Chevy 350 V8. When I bought it a couple of years ago, it had sat for 19 years and I carefully prepped and started the engine. Before starting, I put a rebuilt starter in, rebuilt the carburetor, installed a new distributor, new plugs and new plug wires. Put in an almost new fuel pump and a new fuel filter. Changed the oil, of course and she started up on the first tap of the key. She ran smooth and responded crisply to the throttle. I cleaned and oiled the hood and door mechanisms and cleaned and lubricated the window operators as well. All working nicely. There’s still some things that she needs to get her roadworthy. Of course there is a lot of rust, but that is a big part of the charm that makes this rare horse van soooo cool. One of the things I really like about this truck is the split rear axle. This shiftable axle makes the manual four speed transmission into an 8 speed. When I was young, I drove and 18 wheeler that had a split rear axle and it was a great experience. I have the bill of sale and the last title from previous owner. Located in far south Austin/Manchaca area
