The 7.3 turbo charged diesel motors rarely need servicing other than oil, fuel and air filter changes and can easily run for 200,000-400,000-500,000 miles before needing major engine work. Diesels get better gas mileage compared to the gas powered motors, have more low end torque for hauling heavy loads and were a $5,000 option upgrade. A diesel motor is the best to choose for carrying cargo, pulling a trailer and longevity. The box is a 8x14 Grumman aluminum box, sliding pass through door from cockpit to cargo area measures 24" wide x 38" tall, hardwood floors, Todco roll up rear door, 6 wood slats lining for securing items to the walls. Slats are 1 x 5 1/2" with 9" spacing between each one. Wall studs are 16" on center and ceiling joists are 24" on center. Box has one interior ceiling light. Maximum exterior height is approx 10’. Maximum exterior width of box is 8’. Floor height is 36". Bumper height is 19". Overall length of van is 22’ plus 10" for rear bumper. Interior dimensions of box are 13’8 length x 7’8 width x 7’2 height. Rear door opening frame measures 7’4 width x 6’6 height. The picture of the rear door, left upper side, was damaged by the original owner. I assume he backed into something that poked the panel and fractured it. It rolls up and down normally so it does not need to be replaced. Van has spent its whole life in CA in the San Francisco East Bay Area. Never subjected to cold winters or salted roads. Always in 40-80 degree temperature. This van is in very good condition and is a great deal. The entire machine, inside and out is in very good condition and would cost you approx $36,000 if purchased new. I’ve added a trailer hitch and brake controller ($800) so now it can tow a trailer weighing approx 10,000lbs. Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) is 20,000lbs. I am the second owner and purchased it with 41,500 miles on it. The first owner used it for freeway driving, approx 60 miles per day, driving roundtrip from Fremont to Oakland, CA, picking up vegetables and food and delivering it to a store he owned and a couple of trips to Arizona, and took good care of it.
