mileage: 148000transmission: Manualengin hp: V6fuel: GasolineHave owned this truck since 1995 when it had 46,000 miles on it. 148,000 miles now. Rear wheel drive. Had two non-dealer/consumer owners before me, I believe. I have CARFAX report generated by a car salesman friend prior to me purchasing it. 1987 is the last year that Chevy produced this body style.
The head gaskets were replaced around 4-6 years ago, but not the seals so it uses some oil. Has had a new starter, clutch, master cylinder, radiator, ... fairly well-maintained overall. Nearly all records of repairs kept through the years. Significant body rust, but bed is solid. 3-on-the-tree manual shelled out soon after I acquired it, and Hurst shifter installed in floor still functioning great. I have tried to include pictures that would show the frame and chassis are still viable.
Right now the truck is driveable and usable, but here is an honest-to-goodness list of items presently needing attention (in order of priority to fix):
Needs new gas tank and mounting bracketry
Steering gear needs replaced
Right brake caliper
Exhaust needs at least muffler & tailpipe
Tie rods and drive link worn
Heater blower fan needs replaced (heater works great)
Windshield has been cracked for a long time
Please ask any questions you like via e-mail. This vehicle needs a new owner who has the tools and the skills to take care of it. I have priced it by the best on-line guides I could find, and I have honestly went with a rating of Fair/Poor just because I know it needs the work described above.
That said, you can come and drive it. But if you aren’t real adept at manual «H» pattern we may end up under the truck freeing up the shifting arms that you got stuck. I’ve only allowed a few novices to drive it over the years. I’d expect someone with some experience or love of this kind of machine to be taking a look at it. I love this truck, but am selling because I am no longer in position to maintain. $1750 or reasonable offer.
