1949 GMC, 5-Window, 1-Ton, Project Pickup Truck

1949 GMC, 5-Window Pickup Truck, 1-Ton, Project. It was a flat bed with inline six-cylinder engine and granny 4-speed. They were both locked-up so I scrapped them out some time ago. I pulled the front-end sheet metal off as required (see all images). The body is the same size on 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1 ton trucks, so a lot of parts will interchange. I had been planning on building it onto a more modern 1979 Chevrolet dually frame but will most likely never get around to it; this is a long-term project. I acquired the dually frame (pictured). I was also going to put a 454 engine in it with TH400 automatic transmission, so I went off an acquired a donor vehicle for those as well (also pictured). I know nothing about them as they have been sitting for about ten years in the vehicle; it was running and shifting when parked. They are in a 1973 Chevrolet Beauville 1-ton Van. The engine had been started a few days before I purchased it about six months ago. This van is unique in itself as it has been modified to a mid-engine configuration (very well done I might add). It also has a good, very desirable heavy-duty Salisbury rear axle/differential, eight-lug. It might make a good project on its own. All three are included in this sale (or you can make an offer on one or all). Clear titles in my name on the ’49 GMC and the ’73 Van; I will give a bill of sale on the frame.
