Basics: - 1998 GMC K3500 4x4 2 Door Long Bed SRW - 4 wheel drive - 5.7L (350ci) Vortec engine - 4L80E automatic transmission - Borg Warner 4401 C transfer case Mileage: - 250K miles on the truck - 100K miles on the engine The Good: - New battery Sept 2017 - New distributor Oct 2017 - New transfer case oil 8K miles ago - Tires have about 10K miles - Installed/replaced many parts when purchased in Jan 2016 such as side mirrors, front brake pads and rotors, etc. - Replaced many radiator and engine parts with new engine install in Mar 2016 such as hoses, water pump, exhaust manifolds, motor mounts, etc. - Oil changed every 4 months (I have only driven it about 5-6K miles per year) - Strong, reliable truck (I trust it enough to jump in and drive over an hour away into the woods to go hunting) - Trailer hitch with working 4 pin wiring - Clean title in hand - Current registration The Bad: - No radio installed - Crack in windshield on passenger side (hasn’t spread or bothered me driving) - A/C and defrost don’t really work (heater works ok) - Cylinder 3 has low compression (engine runs well, just not at it’s full potential; I’ve towed up to 5K lbs with no problem) - Used as a work truck before I purchased it, so it has many scratches and dents The Story: I purchased it in January of 2016. Shortly after buying it, I found a crack in the engine block. I replaced the engine with a 5.7L Vortec that had 95K miles.
