1997 Chevy Express Van with Tiara Emerald Edition Conversion. This van was built for a handicapped driver, but can be driven by anyone and the wheelchair bound person can use either the power passenger seat or use their own chair and the wheelchair securement tracks. Mobility Equipment: Braun Vangater Wheelchair lift Monarch mark 1A hand control for gas and brake Braun side swing door operators (2) Driver and passenger power seat base for transfer from wheelchair to factory seat Wheelchair securement track (straps not included) Exterior and interior door/lift controls This van has everything you need for a wheelchair bound person to be able to operate completely independently. The lift and doors can be controlled from the outside, while on the lift, and from two separate switch locations on the inside of the van. The mobility equipment was installed new in 2004, and everything works as it should. The exterior controls are magnetic and hidden in the rear body panel. No switches are visible, but they can be activated with a magnetic key fob on the keychain. All original paperwork and manuals are included We still have the original driver and passenger seat mount assemblies as well as the middle bucket seats, and will be included with the van in the event you want to revert any of that back to original. Cosmetics: Overall, I consider the van to be in great cosmetic condition for its age. There are a few minor dings, and some small areas of paint chips in the white paint. The grey pinstripe has a few nicks and damaged areas. The dark gray skirting around the bottom (steps) on both sides are fiberglass, and have paint chipping off. Those should be easy enough to repaint I would think, but that is the most noticeable cosmetic issue to me. In the interior, the carpet in somewhat discolored, as you can see from the photos. Otherwise, the interior is in excellent condition. The leather seats are not ripped or torn. The wood-look trim and conversion cabinets look good. the doors open and close as they should and the interior lights work. There is a back seat TV and VHS player which may be able to be converted to DVD. The back bench lays down flat and extends to a decent bed. There is a built in vacuum, which still works as well. Mechanics: The engine starts easily and runs well with no problems. The transmission also shifts easily and smoothly. Heat and AC both work well. Tires were replaced at 135K, so they only have about 13K miles on them. This van has always been very reliable. My father-in-law, who was the handicapped driver of this van, used it independently for years with confidence. He kept all his service records and always had oil changes, tire rotation, alignment done professionally. Overall, this van is incredibly complete and a very nice option for a well equipped van at a fraction of the cost of new. I’ll be glad to show the van if you are local. I’d prefer local pickup, but I will assist in any way I can if you need the van to be shipped. The van is located in Holly Hill, SC 29059. email or text preferred
